Hey, Y'all!

I'm Verne, I'm twenty years old, asexual, aromantic, and agender. I live in a rural town in North Carolina, USA. I'm going to begin my long-awaited career as a preschool teacher soon, when I'm further into my medical transition.

I'm also known as Literary X on AVEN. I'm probably fixing to get banned from there for agreeing with some bigot (<sarcasm) who dared to suggest that mayonnaise is not a gender. I'm telling you, those mods love to sensor opinions different from their own, locking topics every time a user expresses one. ]}:) (Heaven help you if you're conservative!) But I guess most of you know that. Anyway, I decided to take a break from all the nonsense, so here I am.

Mayonnaise isn't a gender????? dammit...I suppose hienz ketchup isn't one tooo?

Welcome Verne...good luck on the transition and the school role if they all fall into place

They do seem to breed many more bigots posing as free thinking individuals do they not...again welcome

Hi and welcome - things are very lax around here. No report button, no rules other than be nice to each other. We can (and do) disagree but respect the other person's right to hold the opinions they do. So jump in, and enjoy the conversations :D

Hi Verne, and welcome to Apositive!

What?! Mayonnaise isn't a gender??? How can that be true? If ketchup can be a gender, then mayo and mustard should be too! Maybe even secret sauce, but . . . . well, it's taking me a while to get comfortable with that idea. I agree in principle, and I'm working on changing my underlying beliefs, but it takes time for us old folks to wrap our wrinkly ol' brains around new things.

I did try and introduce eggs benedict as a gender once....I was told to stop yoking about.

They haven't taken action yet, but I they instantly locked the topic in which I agreed with the user who stated that, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Everything has a gender in most languages, not just French. The 3 genders in German confuse me.

I remember getting a nudge before where I asked if grey/semi/demi's claiming to be asexual would be like pescatarian's claiming to be vegetarians

Someone found that offensive and reported me and I was nudged :lol: happy days.

Hey! Welcome! Oh god AVEN. Similar thing happened to me. I once posted that casual sex might be risky and I was labeled an antisexual slut shaming nazi.

This site is more laid back, thank god.
